Safety & Handling

For safety and control during walks, dogs are walked using appropriate, secure equipment, such as:

• A slip lead provided by The Everyday Pet

• A properly fitted harness provided by the owner for dogs who should not have pressure applied to the neck

Dogs remain leashed at all times during walks.

Weather conditions are always considered when planning outdoor activities. During extreme heat, severe cold, storms, or other unsafe conditions, walks may be modified to include shorter outdoor breaks combined with indoor enrichment or play. All adjustments are made with your dog’s safety, comfort, and overall well-being in mind.

Dog walks are limited to pets within the same household and are typically conducted with one dog at a time to support safe handling and individualized attention. Walks involving multiple dogs may be considered on a case-by-case basis depending on the dog’s size, behavior, and comfort level.

Walks are conducted within the comfort of your neighborhood, with special attention given to any areas you prefer to avoid—whether that’s a busy road, unfamiliar dogs, or other potential stressors. My goal is always to minimize unnecessary stress and create a safe, positive experience.

I come prepared with essential supplies, including water, first aid items, treats, towels, and cleaning supplies, so you don’t have to worry about a thing.

Leash manners and basic obedience are naturally incorporated into each walk, balanced with plenty of sniffing and exploration to support mental enrichment.

Walks are GPS-tracked through the client portal. After each visit, you'll receive a detailed report including a map of the route taken, along with photos and notes from your dog’s walk.
