Hi, I’m Dominique — the owner and pet sitter behind The Everyday Pet.

Animals have always been a central part of my life, and that connection has grown through years of hands-on experience working with a wide variety of species and personalities. Before starting The Everyday Pet, I spent over six years in general practice veterinary medicine, caring for a wide variety of species—including dogs, cats, reptiles, small exotics, and even wildlife—each with their own unique needs and behaviors.

Over time, these experiences shaped not just my skill set, but my approach to care.

I take a special interest in learning who pets are as individuals, how they communicate, and what their boundaries and needs are. My goal is to build a relationship with your pet so that I am not only your partner in pet care, but theirs as well.

Helping the pets in our community is also a priority of mine. I have been a volunteer pet foster through multiple organizations and have participated in local spay/neuter clinics for feral cats, and plan to continue expanding those efforts in the future.

I’m used to a lengthy pet care routine in my own house: I have Zelda, my Dachshund/Australian Cattle Dog mix and four cats – Annabelle, Marcel, Sora, and Ducky. I know firsthand that pet care can sometimes feel complicated and overwhelming, and I aim to ease some of the everyday stress of pet ownership through the experience and knowledge I’ve gained.
